Watch the incredible elite mile race above. NJ*NY Track Club had four men run under four minutes at the #Sub4attheShore challenge hosted by Shore Running Experience Tuesday night. This isn't something you are going to see everyday on NJ soil.
In front of a great crowd at Shore Regional HS seven athletes toed the line for the final premiere race. After quickly forming a single file line behind the pacing Jesse Garn the field stuck together until about midway through the third lap when Colby Alexander and Rob Napolitano started to gap the others and then added to their lead out of the bell. With all the New Jersey guys competing in this race the Ohio native, Colby Alexander, took home the win with a 3:55.81.
In the end the NJ*NY Track Club saw their winner Colby Alexander at 3:55.81, Rob Napolitano at 3:57.48, Ford Palmer 3:58.80, and Travis Mahoney 3:59.06 all under the four minute challenge. Their teammate Ben Malone, who's run a 4:00.72 in the past, came through in fifth at 4:04.26. Chris Marco, running unattached, was a late entry and ran for sixth at 4:05.59.
There were age grouped community miles held before the elite event as well, full results can be found on the meet page along with photos and race videos for each division. Overall this was a successful night for the NJ running community. A great event, fun atmosphere, and fast times featured.
